One of the most important challenges of the RadiaGlass system is to bear high strengths caused by the hydrostatic pressure of water flowing through the interior of the glazing. To meet this challenge IntelliGlass has been collaborating with the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid to undertake the theoretical, numeric and experimental study of the elastic response of the glass.
The result is a new type of laminated glass with different mechanical properties from a conventional one. In addition, IntelliGlass's patented technology allows the modification of hydrostatic pressures distribution due to the water chamber. This allows the reduction of the required glass thickness.
In short, thanks to IntelliGlass technology is possible today manufacture the RadiaGlass glazings using conventional glass thicknesses. The future of this line of I+D seeks to allow larger formats.
